A small, picturesque village in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Sablet is built around a small sand and sandstone hill. Its ancient narrow streets wind around its Romanesque church, which dates back to the twelfth century. Sablet is surrounded by ramparts and watchtowers which date back to the fourteenth century and remain as striking reminders of Sablet's turbulent past. The village is surrounded by green hills planted with vines which produce the high-quality wine for which Sablet is so renowned.
