Location
Nans is a typical provençal village. There are 3500 inhabitants. The village is between the ranges of the Sainte Baume mountain and the range of the mont Aurelien. The village has an ideal location close to important cities such as Aix en Provence, Marseille and Toulon but is sufficiently far from big tourist concentrations.
Many archeological sites are to be seen: tumuli from 650 B.C., a celto ligurian oppidum from the second century B.C., the ruins of a medieval castle and village overlook Nans les Pins but the most significant monument of our village is the chapel of “La Miséricorde” built by the white Penitents in the 17th century. |
