The Museum of the Olive tree offers to its visitors, through the objects it has on show, both the ancient and the more recent history of the culture of the Olive tree in Nyons, as well as the different uses of Olive oil.

From the harvesting (ancient photos...) to the mill (presses dating back to the beginning of the 19th century...), discover here the objects used to contain and stock the oil (stone cuves...)


The uses of the olive fruit:

- lighting (Roman oil lamps from the 4th century...).
- the Sancted-oils, contained in small silver vases.
- culinary of course, the containers for family stockage, transport...
- medical, with "remedies" of the 17th century using oil or Olive tree leaves.

The tools used for working and those necessary for the manufacture of the oil and its derivatives.

The museum is open all the year,
Sundays and holidays included of the 8:30 at 12:00
and 14:30 to 18:30 free visits.
