The barn of Montjoyer, built by the Cistercian monks of Aiguebelle, was at the centre of the village that developed during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.
The ancient fortified settlement preserved part of the medieval plan with small lanes and covered passages, some remains of the ramparts and an impressive door to the village.
