The Country of Grignan in Drôme Provençale
In the heart of Drôme Provençale, fourteen mostly fortified villages stand with their ancient houses upon a well preserved landscape.
Perched above the valleys or nested among vineyards or lavender fields, they are surrounded by oak forests where the famous truffle “black diamond” is found.
All the year round, something happens there: from summer theatre in the castle of Grignan (fêtes nocturnes) to Christmas markets in winter. Agricultural fairs, wine and truffle feats as well as literary events can also be attended. Museums and galleries open their doors to exhibitions showing a rich historical past or actual contemporary works.
Nature, everywhere alive, makes agriculture rhyme with culture and touring people can test many gastronomical , cultural or sporting runs, always beautiful. |
