The Chateau of Liviers stands proudly on a rocky prominence at an altitude of approximately 1600 feet overlooking the town of Privas below. From the Château’s terraces one can see in the distance the valley of the Rhône River and that of the Drôme, the nearer mountain ranges of the Vercors and the Mont Ventoux, as well as the Alps on the horizon..

Once the fortified residence of the Chevaliers de Malte and registered as a national historic monument; the Château once belonged to the Mars de Liviers.

The walls of the Château dating from the 11th, 14th and 17th centuries, its shaded lawns and clearings, the nearby forest of oak and chestnut... all contribute to te pleasure of your stay: harmony, calm and comfort in a natural setting.

ACTIVITIES :
At the Château: hiking, hunting wild mushrooms an ancient bread oven that can be tired up, ping pong, volley ball, a game room and music room, television with video, library, more than fifteen acres of fields and woods, horses...

Numerous museums (the histrory of Protestantism, Museum et Ardèche History, and specialized museums demonstrating local crafts of chestnut cultivation, wool and sheep, and the making of silk from silk worms.
